ARCHITECTURAL PANIC ROOM DESIGN CRITERIA
We realize that in most cases our clients can not afford to tie space in their home for a room they will hopefully never need. Since floor space is often at a premium it is common for a room, or closet, or even Bathroom to do double duty as a security room. By utilizing a space for this dual purpose we can provide you with a security room without create a loss in usable floor space. When we utilize an existing room to double up as your security room we build into that preexisting space the necessary safety equipment such as surveillance equipment and sound-proofing, even bullet resistance elements. Once we have built in the necessary security equipment we then design and finish the room to fit its normal function.
Our architects disguise the security features and integrate them into design so that they are out of the way when not needed but easily accessible in the case of a crisis. We also consider the nature of your potential threat and take into consideration when we determine the location of your security room and determining if a preexisting room will function properly for an extended period if necessary. We find in many cases that a bathroom suits this need well, since they already have the necessary water supply and other features conducive to an extended emergency stay in a security room.
